Lakeland Flowers is sharing a time-honoured Dutch tradition, spanning 35 acres of tulips and field flowers. With kilometres of tulip-lined pathways, get ready to walk among over 100 varieties of tulips, blooming in different colours, shapes, and sizes. Create memories and take photos at our baby grand pianos, canoes, swings, bicycles and much more!
The Warmerdam Family has deep roots in flower farming. Peter Warmerdam, a Dutch immigrant, came to Canada in search of happiness and opportunity after the Second World War. Growing up in Sassenheim NL, the largest tulip bulb producing area in the world, Peter eventually settled on the Sumas Flats, in Abbotsford where the sandy soils and steady wind made the ideal conditions for planting tulips. Peter shared his love of flower farming with his family, many of whom continue to grow flowers to this day. The Warmerdam name has become synonymous with quality BC flowers.
Lakeland Flowers is honoured to have a variety of tulips called Peter’s Legacy. This beautiful white single tulip was named after Peter Warmerdam by the cultivar tulip and bulb supplier, Nord Lommerse, after years of loyal partnership.

The plan builds on our current accessibility achievements to date and has been created to meet the legislated requirements of the Accessible British Columbia Act.
The City of Abbotsford needs to hear from you in order to develop an Accessibility Action Plan. At these engagement sessions, we hope to gain community feedback about ways in which we can remove barriers for persons with disabilities and other marginalized populations.

Event Details
The Abbotsford Farm & Country Market was established in 2003 and is operated by the non-profit Abbotsford Farm & Country Market Society.
It combines the best of a modern market experience with a traditional “make, bake, or grow” principle for its juried vendors. As a result, the Abbotsford Farm & Country Market showcases the best in locally grown and produced products along with the creative talents of both artisans and entertainers.
The majority of vendors are growers and food producers from the Abbotsford area. Agri-related businesses generate more than one third of Abbotsford’s economic activity and are responsible for 20% of all local jobs.
Buying local food contributes to a healthier environment by sustaining oxygen producing plants, and reducing greenhouse gases from packaging and long-distance transportation. In addition, local food is fresher, naturally ripened and therefore a healthier choice for you and your family.
By shopping at the Abbotsford Farm & Country Market, you are supporting the health of your loved ones, the environment, and the local economy; and are helping to sustain the availability of local food for future generations.
Learn more about local agriculture and local food by meeting local farmers and food producers at the Abbotsford Farm & Country Market each week.

Two years ago, local author Nelson Boschman released his first book, The Growing Season: Contemplations on Wine and the Soul… a closer look at the transformation that occurs from grape to glass, and what that process can teach us about what it means to flourish as human beings. Boschman has teamed up with Mt Lehman Winery and Downtown Abbotsford’s Open Space to bring you a unique community event you won’t want to miss. We’ll taste delicious local wines, hear stories and readings from The Growing Season, and share an evening of connection with our neighbours and friends.

Calling all improvisers! Very Very Improv Community Jams are happening in Downtown Abbotsford. Whether you are a performer looking for more stage time, or a supportive friend looking for laughs, this event is the perfect way to get on stage and make a scene in front of a supportive audience. Improv Jam Sessions take place at the OPEN SPACE at 33765 Essendene on the second Saturday of ever month. Performers who put their name in the hat are offered a chance to get up on stage and create a scene as selected by the host. Performers are encouraged to arrive early to register to play by 7:15. Everyone else can grab a seat, sit back, and enjoy the fun.
Age recommendation is 18+.
NOTE: As much as we love musical jams, this event is NOT for musicians. We jam to comedy and laughter at this event!

The City of Abbotsford is in the process of developing an Accessibility Plan that will identify, remove and reduce barriers for individuals within the community.
Please join us at Semá:th Elementary School (36321 Vye Rd, Abbotsford, BC V3G 1Z5) on Monday May 13 from 6-8pm.

This season, VIEW Dance Challenge will be entering its 11th year of production. From its inception to present VIEW continues to operate with the unique goal of delivering a dance experience like no other. Through the creation and implementation of a platform for young, aspiring dancers to celebrate the art of dance. VIEW has become a second home, a community and exciting dance environment for dancers across the globe. The past 11 years have allowed VIEW to learn, grow and continue to evolve through innovative and creative approaches.
VIEW is a professional, unique and reputable International Dance Competition that proudly operates in nine Canadian provinces and two different countries. As the competition locations continue to grow globally, so has the VIEW Family. This is clearly demonstrated through the outstanding roster of Event Directors, Staff and Adjudicators that all share a common goal of dedicating their skills to the art of dance.
We would not be celebrating 11 years without our amazing dance community. From our loyal clients that have been with us since day one to our newest, we could not thank you enough for your trust, support and appreciation. VIEW would not be what is it today without the continued support, love and trust from its incredible dance community. We have had the honour and privilege of SEEING dancers grow as artists on the VDC stage. We BELIEVE in providing our community of dancers with a safe space to perform, compete, learn and grow together! We BELIEVE that we can make a difference in creating a strong foundation for dancers to ACHIEVE their goals and dreams.
We take pride in delivering high quality events and providing the ultimate dance competition experience for all dancers, studio owners, teachers, choreographers and families. We strive to go above and beyond by hand selecting the best suited venues for performance needs, recruiting extraordinary and personable staff members and curating a panel of accomplished and sought out international adjudicators.
At VIEW, dancers gain more than just a performance opportunity; they are provided with the staging, lighting and atmosphere to showcase their talents and receive constructive criticism and thoughtful guidance from our established panel of adjudicators. Our commitment to excellence assures a timely and organized dance competition, and of course, an unforgettable experience from the moment you step foot in the door.
As former professional dancers, event and film producers, passionate adjudicators, international choreographers and proud BFA holders majoring in Dance, we are committed to bringing you the most remarkable, reputable and rewarding Canadian Dance Competition. Our love and passion for the art of dance paired with our expertise and years of experience ensures that your time at VIEW Dance Challenge exceeds all of your dance competition expectations! Words cannot express how grateful we are for this incredible dance community. Thank you for your trust, your continued support and loyalty particularly over this past year.
Our 2024 Dance Tour will be an unforgettable season you won’t want to miss. Please do not hesitate to contact us for further information and to reserve your spot for our 2024 Dance Tour. Remember that if you can SEE IT and BELIEVE IT, you can ACHIEVE IT.

In 2019, a small group of Métis and First Nations women met and began a weekly inclusive singing and hand drumming circle. Instructor Wenonah Justin member of Cook’s Ferry of the Nlaka’pamux nation with Cree ancestry is a traditional singer, Knowledge Sharer and Drum Carrier. She shares the traditional Salish teachings she learned from Salish Elders in Tiqilip Community Singers.
In the pursuit of helping themselves and others reclaim a culture that was denied to them, D.R.U.M.C. practices Love, Unity, Inclusivity, Acceptance, Indigenous languages, Stories, and Songs.
We will be gathering on the traditional, ancestral and unceded territories of the Stó:lō People. Specifically Semá:th (Sumas), Mathexwi (Matsqui), and Laq’ámel (Mission) First Nations. This is also the lodging home for the Fraser Valley Métis Association, a chartered community of Metis Nation BC (MNBC).

In 2007 the founding board members of the Run for Water Society conceptualized a unique event to be hosted in Abbotsford, British Columbia. The vision was to stage a top tier internationally recognized running event that would attract a wide range of participants and athletes and, at the same time, raise awareness – and funds – for people in the developing world who lack one of life’s basic necessities – clean water. Since 2008, this volunteer board has staged an annual road race and now additionally organizes trail runs and gravel grind events.
Funds raised – over $4,000,000 to date – go towards helping building clean water projects in some of the most remote and marginalized areas of Ethiopia.

Please join us at Abbotsford Community Library (Abbotsford Community Library, 33355 Bevan Avenue) on Saturday May 25 from 10-11:30am. The Abbotsford Community Library is attached to the Abbotsford Senior Secondary School.
