Upcoming Productions to look out for in the 2025-2026 Season of Theatre at UFV
The Secret in the Wings
By Mary Zimmerman
March 2026
The Secret in the Wings is a vivid story woven from several lesser-known fairy tales, reflecting upon the darker and more dangerous undercurrents of childhood. Actors involved in this production should expect some storytelling through movement and ensemble/choral work.
This show runs March 19th-28th 2026, with select performances at the Chilliwack Cultural Centre.
Directors’ Showcase 2026
April 2026
The Directors’ Theatre Showcase is the final project presented by UFV Theatre’s fourth-year Directing class. It is a chance for students to apply everything they have learned in the course and direction a short production.
Showtimes April 23th to April 26th (presented at the 2026 Interpret Festival).

Event Details
Blind Corners is proof that limits are mostly imagination.
This documentary follows The Blind Kid (Brett Devloo), who refused to quit skating after losing his vision at 16. It’s a story of rebellion, resilience, and rebuilding purpose from the ground up.
From grinding rails in total darkness to gifting iPads to visually impaired students across Canada, Brett’s journey turns tragedy into motion. Between running his own clothing brand and teaming up with Hippie Mike Industries Skatepark to bring accessible sports to Hope, BC, Brett proves that losing sight doesn’t mean losing vision.
Come witness the story that redefines what it means to see possibility.
Agenda
The night will begin with brief speeches from inspiring voices in the accessibility advocacy community, followed by the documentary premiere. Afterwards, there will be an open Q&A session to close out the night.
Coffee, juice, and snacks will be available throughout the evening.
Please refer to Downtown Abbotsford’s website for available parking https://downtownabbotsford.ca/explore/

Event Details
As one of the most generous communities in Canada, what better place to celebrate philanthropy than in Abbotsford!
This year’s National Philanthropy Day Luncheon is scheduled for Friday November 14th. Ticket sales will open in September. This year’s event will be held at Evered Hall at the University of the Fraser Valley Campus, Abbotsford. Doors open at 11:30 am and the event ends at 1 pm.
Like last year, we hope to keep the event inclusive, community focused, and welcoming to all types of philanthropy. For us, it’s not the size of the gift but the size of the heart with which the gift is given, that matters. Everyone who gives – whether they volunteer or donate – is a philanthropist. And every philanthropist has a story that inspires them to give. We’ll feature a special mocktail for all our guests, along with opportunities to celebrate their own roles as philanthropists, and provide an array of speakers who will be sharing their impact stories. We hope you’ll join us to celebrate generosity in our community.
