Youth Night is an eight week recreation program for youth 12-16. Every week youth have the opportunity to try a new fun, social, and active activity in a lively and supportive group atmosphere. Activities vary by season, but fall Youth Nights usually include activities like martial arts, bowling, laser tag, and more!

The BCHL 2025 Showcase event, will be held Oct. 12 to 16 in Abbotsford and Chilliwack for the second year in a row.

Four of the five days will take place at the Abbotsford Centre, while one day will be hosted at the Chilliwack Coliseum.

The event sees all 20 teams playing two regular season games over a five-day span in front of fans and scouts from the NHL, NCAA and more.

“After the success of last year’s Showcase event, we are happy to be back in the Fraser Valley for the second year in a row,” said Connor Ewert, Events Manager for the BCHL. “Hosting in Abbotsford and Chilliwack gives our players the opportunity to play in a professional setting, while also providing scouts with a comfortable and convenient viewing experience. We look forward to engaging with the local communities and making this year’s event another success.”

Volunteer with the Abbotsford Youth Commission at the Fraser Valley Gleaners Society and help prepare food sent around the world for humanitarian aid. Volunteers will help with tasks such as cutting and sorting vegetables, packaging soup mix, and cleaning equipment. No prior experience needed, all equipment and training will be provided — just come ready to work together and make a global impact. This is a great opportunity to gain volunteer hours, meet other youth, and learn how local efforts can make a difference worldwide!

We’re looking for energetic volunteers to help us clear some invasive plants at Fishtrap Creek Park in Abbotsford. Tools and training will be provided, but feel free to bring your own pruners and gloves.

Before we take action, Jon, our Habitat Enhancement Coordinator, will share information about species that call Fishtrap Creek Park home.
