Event Details
UFV Theatre presents Pages of Time, a new theatre performance created for the 2025 Devised Theatre Showcase.
The Devised Theatre Showcase is the final project presented by UFV Theatre’s fourth year Devised Theatre class (THEA 452). Led by instructor, Parjad Sharifi, it is a chance for students to apply everything they have learned during their time at UFV and create a production together from scratch. We invite you to come and see what our students have worked so hard on!
This year the Devised Theatre Class has created a theatre piece called Pages of Time. We grow up surrounded by books, but which chapters create the library of our mind? Pages of Time is a performance that engages with the power and nature of books. Follow the Reader as they are whisked from cover to cover of the favourites from childhood to adulthood. Delight in the power of books and the joy of escapism; but do tread lightly, for we do not know where fiction ends, and reality begins.
The student collaborators this year are Racheal Arnold, Ashy Crowston, Lydia Gunnink, Aimee Payeur, Alex Simpson, and Mark Urano. The production is supported by a student production and design team that includes Arty Urdabayev (projection and sound designer), Sterling Kai Pollock (lighting designer) and Marie Brideau (stage manager).
Performances will be held in the Performance Studio, Building D, 105, Abbotsford Campus, University of the Fraser Valley, 33844 King Road.

Reserve your seats for our special “Luminous Waters” performance inspired by our award-winning children’s book Semá:th X̱ó:tsa: Sts’ólemeqwelh Sx̱ó:tsa (Great-Gramma’s Lake).
Working with professional puppeteer Tamara Unroe at Mamele’awt Indigenous Education Center, students from Abbotsford School District immersed themselves in the story of Semá:th X̱ó:tsa (Sumas Lake) to develop this spectacular performance. The students bring to life three larger-than-life illuminated puppets based on more-than human beings that would have once lived in and around the lake.
Presented in partnership between The Reach Gallery Museum, Indigenous Education, and the City of Abbotsford’s Culture City Program Series.
Tickets are free but registration is required. Space is limited!

Event Details
The Homegrown National Park movement encourages people to turn their yards into wildlife-friendly habitats, creating interconnected corridors that are like a park. By planting native species and promoting richness and variety, individuals can support native wildlife and healthy air quality, reduce their water usage, and lessen flood risk. The homegrownnationalpark.org website offers resources and tools to help people get started on their conservation journey. By being part of the HNP movement, the Abbotsford-Mission Nature Club can be a leader in the community, modelling how their neighbours, too, can become better stewards of the earth we all love.
About the speaker:
Dr. James M. Scott is a former professor of religious studies at Trinity Western University, Langley, B.C. He is the author of several books focusing on how people can get together and make a positive change in the world. See https://www.goodreads.com/author/list/32028484.James_M_Scott. He lives in Abbotsford.
